Terms of service

Plain-English summary of the deal between you and 555: the wallet is closed-loop and safeguarded, points don't expire, hardware is yours, software has no minimum term, and our liability is capped where the law permits.

Effective: 29 April 2026Version: 2026.04

This is the public summary. The full legal text delivered with your wallet or merchant onboarding is the binding version. If they conflict, the onboarding agreement controls.

  1. 01About this agreement

    These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and 555GROUP PTE. LTD. (UEN: 202006462D) and its affiliates operating under the “555” brand in Singapore (“555”, “we”, “us”).

    They cover use of the 555 wallet app, the 555 merchant POS, the 555 loyalty programme, this website, and any related services we make available in Singapore (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Cookie Policy.

    If you are accepting these Terms on behalf of a business, you confirm you have authority to bind that business.

  2. 02Eligibility and your account

    You must be at least 16 years old to hold a wallet account, and at least 18 to operate a merchant account. You must provide accurate information and keep it current. We may refuse or close any account at our discretion where required by law or risk policy.

    You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials, your device, and any code or PIN that authorises payments. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised access — you can find the fastest channels on the contact page.

  3. 03The 555 wallet

    The 555 wallet is a closed-loop e-money facility. Balances spend at any 555-connected merchant in Singapore. The wallet is not a bank account, does not earn interest, and is not covered by deposit insurance.

    Safeguarding. Wallet funds are held in a segregated trust account at a Singapore-licensed bank, separate from our operating funds, in line with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) guidance. If 555 ever becomes insolvent, customer balances remain customer property.

    Top-ups. You can top up via Apple Pay, Google Pay, credit/debit card, or PayNow. Top-ups are credited instantly. We may apply per-transaction, daily, and monthly limits for risk and regulatory reasons.

    Withdrawals. You can withdraw available balance back to a verified bank account in your name. Standard withdrawals are processed within one business day. We may delay or decline a withdrawal where fraud, sanctions, or AML concerns are present.

    Inactive wallets. If a wallet has no activity for 24 months we will email you. After a further 6 months of inactivity we may suspend the wallet and return the balance to your registered bank account, less any reasonable handling fee disclosed in advance.

  4. 04Loyalty

    555 loyalty points are a benefit of using the Service, not money, and confer no entitlement against 555 beyond the rewards published in-app. Points have no cash value and cannot be transferred or sold.

    Earning. You earn points on qualifying spend at 555-connected merchants. Multipliers, welcome bundles, and promotions have stated qualification windows shown at the time of offer.

    Expiry. Once credited, points do not expire while the account is active. We may reverse points related to refunded, disputed, or fraudulent transactions.

    Abuse. Self-dealing, collusion, transaction structuring, friendly fraud, and chargeback abuse are grounds for point reversal and account closure.

  5. 05Payments and refunds

    When you pay with the 555 wallet, the merchant is the seller of record for the goods or services. Disputes about quality, fitness, or delivery are between you and the merchant. We will help you contact them and, where applicable, raise a chargeback.

    Refunds initiated by a merchant are returned to your wallet by default. Card-funded top-ups may be refunded to the original card where required by network rules.

    Unauthorised transactions. If you tell us promptly that a transaction was unauthorised, we will investigate and, where you have not acted with gross negligence or fraud, restore the disputed amount in line with the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS)’s consumer-protection framework.

  6. 06Merchant plans and hardware

    Merchant plans are paid monthly in advance. Pricing is the price shown on the pricing page at the time of sign-up.

    Hardware. Where a plan includes hardware, the tablet, printer, and NFC tags ship before service activation. Title transfers to you on delivery. Hardware is covered by a 12-month replacement warranty against manufacturing defects; physical damage and misuse are excluded.

    Term and cancellation. There is no minimum software term. You can cancel any time by writing to [email protected]; service ends at the close of the paid billing month and your hardware stays yours.

    Settlement. Wallet and card payments are settled to your nominated bank account on T+1. Reconciliation reports are available in the merchant dashboard.

  7. 07Acceptable use

    You agree not to use the Service to:

    • launder money, finance terrorism, or evade sanctions;
    • evade tax or break export controls;
    • sell prohibited goods or regulated goods you are not licensed to sell;
    • impersonate another person, falsify identity documents, or open an account under a false name;
    • reverse-engineer, decompile, scrape, or interfere with the Service, or probe it for vulnerabilities outside an authorised programme;
    • upload malware or content that is unlawful, defamatory, or infringes third-party rights.

    See our AML/CFT Policy for the framework we follow on financial-crime risk. Breaches are grounds for immediate suspension or termination.

  8. 08Fees

    Fees for each plan, transaction type, and optional service are listed on our pricing page and in your merchant agreement. We will give at least 30 days’ notice before any fee increase. You can cancel before the new fee takes effect without penalty.

  9. 09Intellectual property

    The Service, including software, designs, the “555” name and marks, and all content we publish, is owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable licence to use the Service for its intended purpose.

    You retain ownership of content you submit (e.g. menu items, product photos). You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and distribute that content solely to provide the Service.

  10. 10Suspension and termination

    We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms, create undue risk, or where we are required to by law or regulator direction. Where lawful and practicable we will give you notice and a chance to remedy. On termination, surviving balance is returned to a verified bank account in your name, subject to AML and sanctions checks.

  11. 11Disclaimers

    The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation, error-free function, or that the Service will meet every requirement you have. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties (merchantability, fitness for purpose, non-infringement). Nothing in this section limits rights you have under Singapore consumer-protection law that cannot be excluded.

  12. 12Liability

    We are liable for what the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS) and consumer-protection law in Singapore require us to be liable for, including unauthorised transactions handled in line with the framework above.

    Beyond that, our total aggregate liability to you under these Terms in any 12-month period is capped at the greater of (a) the fees you paid us in the prior 12 months, or (b) S$500. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or special losses (including lost profits, lost goodwill, and lost data) except where this limitation is not permitted by law.

    Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, gross negligence, willful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

  13. 13Indemnity

    You agree to indemnify us against losses we suffer from your breach of these Terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or your infringement of third-party rights — except to the extent caused by us. This clause survives termination.

  14. 14Disputes and governing law

    We’re happy to resolve issues directly — write to [email protected] first and we will respond within one business day.

    If we cannot resolve it, these Terms are governed by the laws of Singapore, and the courts of the courts of Singapore have exclusive jurisdiction, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules that grant you rights in your place of residence.

  15. 15Changes

    We may update these Terms when the Service or the law changes. Material changes are notified at least 14 days in advance by email and in-app notice. Continued use after the effective date is acceptance. If you do not agree, stop using the Service and contact us to close your account.
